The old bench grinder started making a noise nobody trusted. In 1982, Ray pulled it apart instead of hauling it to the curb. He found a worn bearing, found a replacement, and had the machine humming again by Saturday afternoon. The grinder kept doing its job for years, mostly because Ray refused to believe its age was the problem. That is the idea behind it.
The line works because "stubborn" carries the whole thing. Anyone who has repaired something three times instead of buying another one reads it and nods. "Built To Last" says the years can pile up without getting the final word. This design is not a lecture about aging or a complaint about getting older. It is a plain statement from people who have fixed plenty of things and intend to keep going.
