ill-backyard-denim-jacket
"I'll Be In The Backyard" Vintage Denim Jacket

The backyard gate had been catching since spring. One Saturday morning, the latch came off with a screwdriver. A few strokes of a file took care of the rough edge, and the latch went back on. The gate shut with one clean click. The tools went away, and a glass with ice and an orange peel came out. That is the idea behind it.

The line works because “I'll be” says you can come find me, but I'm not coming back inside yet. Anyone who has finished a job by hand and settled into a backyard chair will nod. The glass and orange peel give the backyard scene a little old-school dignity. It is not a lecture about slowing down. It is not a complaint about getting older.

Ready when the work is done: The medium-wash cotton-blend denim has a touch of stretch.
